The Belzer Middle School Orchestra program exists to create a positive musical environment for all students. To help nurture, motivate, and refine the skills of young musicians. This program also assists students in learning very important life skills, such as: Respect, Responsibility, Teamwork, Fairness, Honesty, Courage, Initiative, and Perseverance. In order for the orchestra to be successful, students must learn how to exhibit and implement these life skills into the classroom while creating a positive atmosphere through their attitudes.
Belzer Middle School offers many opportunities to students who wish to play Violin, Viola, Cello or Bass.
Our string program starts in the 5th grade where parents drop off students before the school day at Belzer Middle School for 40min. of string instruction then the busses take them to their respective elementary schools in time for their core classes. Students who complete the 5th grade beginning strings program will continue on to 6th grade Intermediate classes in middle school.
If students are unable to participate in the 5th grade beginning strings program, they can start with the beginning 6th grade class when the get into middle school.
Students participating in the middle school string program are also eligible to audition for LTHO, the Lawrence Township Honors Orchestra.
Participating at this beginning level will give students a foundation for performance through middle and high school orchestra.
