To help fourth graders practice their problem solving skills, the week of November 5 saw our first Problem Of the Week (P.O.W.) Each family should have received a packet with details and each student received general instructions and the first problem. We have completed a sample problem in class (as we will always do) and the students have until Friday (so three nights) to come up with an answer. So put on your thinking caps and start solving!
We have also started our Math rotations as we focus on multiplication. Students will receive leveled instruction on various concepts dealing mostly with multiplication of large numbers.
Parents familiar with the past P.O.W. format will notice some major changes in the way we will assess the students. Please make sure you read the packet and check with your child's teacher if you have any questions.
