As fifth graders, you will have an opportunity to work with data sets. You will collect, display, analyze, compare, & interpret data.
In addition, you'll use the results of probability experiments to predict future events.
Data is all around us: In newspapers, magazines, television news, commercials, sports, & the workplace. Students need to learn how to understand data. In fifth grade, students develop the concepts of PROBABILITY & MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE, & RANGE by collecting, displaying, analyzing, comparing, & interpreting data sets. They use the results of probability experiments to predict future events.
What would you do when someone asked you to find the mean, median, mode, & range of a set of numbers? Simply follow the steps in this tutorial!
