MODULE 2

HOW DOES VISUAL LITERACY LOOK in an EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT?

In a society where we’re learning more than half of what we know from visual information, it’s important to teach ourselves & students how to view visual data critically. We need to learn how to look beyond the surface & understand deeper levels of meaning in visual images. As you read these articles, hopefully, they will give you a new way of thinking about the way we (adults & children) receive & present visual information.

As you work through this module…THINK ABOUT the FOLLOWING:
  1. What does a visually literacy teacher, leader, or presenter need to believe?
  2. If I’m going to teach the way this generation learns, how can it be done?
  3. How would a visually enhanced environment or product look?
