MODULE 3
MODULE 3: WHAT makes a CONSUMER?...a PRODUCER?
WHAT makes a CONSUMER?...a PRODUCER...a THINKER?
Most of our life if spend being a consumer of visuals. We can’t escape them! As Burmark stated in an article found in Module 1, “Today, clearly, we live in a visual world. Our news comes to us through visual media: illustrated magazines and newspapers, movies and television, and visually engaging sites with streaming video from the Internet.” Thanks to television & the internet, newsworthy events…good or bad…unfolded in our living rooms. How people read or interpret visuals is directly related to how they produce information in a visual way. Learners of any age, can be encouraged to communicate meaning visually. Your task is to determine some ways that would work best for you & your audience.
1. CONSUMERS: How does a learner “read” or interpret visuals?
2. PRODUCERS: What role do aesthetics play in developing a visual & sharing knowledge?
3. THINKERS: How can a learner communicate meaning visually?
