MODULE 4
HOW WILL THIS INFORMATION TRANSLATE INTO PRACTICE?
HOW WILL THIS INFORMATION TRANSLATE INTO PRACTICE?
Understanding & appreciating visual design, techniques, & media will help adults, as well as students, become better synthesizers of information & producers of products or presentations. There is no, “one right way” to “teach” visual literacy or to incorporate it into a plan or presentation. It’s a matter of being aware of what’s possible, the needs of the audience, & the overall goals & expectations. In a society where we’re learning more than half of what we know from visual information, it’s important to teach our students & staff how to view data critically, showing them how to look beyond the surface & understand deeper levels of meaning.
As you work through this module…THINK ABOUT the FOLLOWING:
1. What can be done differently…VISUALLY…to engage an audience of students or adults?
2. How can a “VISUAL hook” be created & disseminated?
3. How can VISUALS be more explicitly incorporated into lesson plans or presentation, to
ensure the audience connects with the content?
