Mr. Thompson is originally from the state of Wisconsin, graduating Wauwatosa West (suburb of Milwaukee) High School in 1978. Mr. Thompson attended and graduated with an Industrial Education degree from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 1983. From there he traveled to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to start his career at St. Mary’s Springs High School teaching Woodworking and Small Engines. Five years later, 1988, he accepted and taught 15 years in Des Plaines, Illinois at Algonquin Middle School. While there Mr. Thompson was one of the first teachers in the state to introduce Computer Aided Drafting at the Middle School Level. Mr. Thompson also earned his Master of Science Degree from Illinois State University in 1994. In 2002 Mr. Thompson accepted a teaching and coaching position in Township Community School District 211. From there he traveled to Woodstock and is currently the Department Chair at Woodstock High School and is teaching the Principles pf Engineering class (POE).
